In the story "The Red Shoes" Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes shares the ancient wisdom of our own handmade shoes and not sacrificing that for the easy way out, which is so tempting in this modern world of instant gratification. Simply put, there is wisdom to be found in the wishes, the talents, the wonder we cultivated growing up, depth in meaning in what you put so much effort into and the opportunity to reconnect to your soul purpose when you have a hand, both practical and living in trust, in the making of your own life.

I hope to inspire those who have forgotten about their their own handmade life. That the words may be the water they need to take it up again, to be moved to find the creative impulse still living in them, because even as an ember it can be brought back to life.
